『じぶんだけのいろ』という絵本を知っていますか？

どんな色にも見た目を変えられるカメレオンが主人公です。

しましまの動物の上に乗れば、しましまの模様に、草むらの中に入れば草むらと同じ緑色になります。

そんなふうにどんな色にも変わってしまい、ずっと同じ色でいられないことに悩んでいます。

「自分の本当の色ってなに？」

いろいろな方法で自分の色を見つけようとしますが自分の色を見つけることがなかなかできません。

それでも自分を探して旅をする中で、同じカメレオンの仲間に出逢います。

自分より少し年上のそのカメレオンは賢く、自分の色は変わるけど、それでも「自分は自分」「変わってしまうのではなく、変えることができる」と教えてくれます。

それから2匹は一緒に過ごし、色を変えることができることを楽しんでいきます。

見方を変えるだけで、世界は変わって見える。

この絵本は大人が読んでも魅力的です。

周囲に雰囲気を合わせてばっかりで「自分ってなんだろう」と息苦しい思いをしたことは少なからず誰にでもあると思います。

どんな姿に変わっても自分は自分。

共感もでき、明るい気持ちになれ、大切なことを教えてくれる絵本です。

本を読むことで動物の名前・色・模様といった名詞だけではなく、onやinといった前置詞、turnなどの動詞も繰返しの中で学ぶことができるので、読み聞かせにもぴったりです。

可愛い動物たちにも癒されますが、透明感のある水彩画で描かれたイラストは色合いも鮮やかで、イラストを、眺めるだけでも明るい気持ちになることができます。

Do you know the book named “A Color of His Own”??

The main character is a chameleon that can change the color of its body to any color.

If it is on a striped animal, it turns stripey. If it is in the grass, it turns a grassy green. Just like that, it will change to any color even when it isn’t trying to, and it feels depressed.

“What is my own color?” it says, and he gets sad.

The chameleon tried many ways to discover its own color, but it had some trouble finding it.

Even though it was difficult, it kept on trying again and again.

But, during its journey of self-discovery, it finally met another chameleon.

This chameleon was a little order and wiser, and it said, “Even though my color changes, I am who I am. I am not going to change, but rather I can change.”

After that, they spent a lot of time together and they enjoyed changing the color of their bodies.

If you change your perspective, the world will completely change too.

This picture book is really good, even for adults.

I think most people have adjusted themselves to suit the people around them, and because of that they sometimes feel stressed.

Even though you might change or look different, you are still you.

You can empathize and feel positive and learn many other important things by reading this story.

By reading this book you can also learn some nouns like “the names of animals”, “colors”, “patterns”, as well as some prepositions like, “on”, “in”, and basic verbs like “turn”.

Therefore, it is really good to read to children.

You can see many cute animals in this book.

The illustrations drawn with watercolors are really beautiful and vivid.

Just by seeing these pictures, you can feel good.
